Orders for the updated 2027 Renault 5 E-Tech are now open, with prices remaining unchanged.

The Renault 5 E-Tech for 2027 will feature extended battery range and fresh design choices while maintaining its original pricing, the automaker confirmed in a recent update. The electric hatchback, which previously earned top honors like the 2025 European Car of the Year and the 2026 UK Car of the Year, now enters its second production cycle with updates focused on efficiency and personalization.

Manufacturing of the revived Renault 5 has surpassed 100,000 units, with all vehicles produced at the Ampere ElectriCity facility in Douai, France. The 2027 version improves range for both battery sizes: the base 40kWh model now reaches up to 197 miles per charge, while the 52kWh option extends to 259 miles under the WLTP testing standard. These gains come from upgraded battery management systems and aerodynamic refinements, including streamlined side mirrors.

Inside, the 2027 model introduces a wireless magnetic charging pad that cools the device and restores 50% of a smartphone’s battery within an hour. Externally, two new color options, Flame Red and Shadow Grey, join the lineup, while Midnight Blue trims in higher grades now include a red roofline stripe. The Five+ interior series swaps its previous yellow upholstery for a textured blue pattern, and additional decal sets further broaden customization.

Unlike many electric vehicles that see price increases, the 2027 Renault 5 E-Tech retains its starting price of £21,495 for the base model, supported by the Electric Car Grant. Orders are now being accepted at Renault dealerships.
