Honda has reintroduced the Prelude nameplate after a 25-year hiatus with a hybrid-powered coupe, and it is now introducing a 2027 Limited Edition version that prioritizes style over performance. The design takes cues from gliders, featuring smooth, flowing lines and a strong emphasis on Japanese craftsmanship.

The 2027 Limited Edition follows its initial success in Japan and will be available in Europe this autumn. Orders can be placed from this fall, with no plans for performance-focused modifications like those seen in Mugen versions. Instead, the focus remains entirely on aesthetic enhancements.

The exterior of the Limited Edition showcases Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic paint, combining deep purple and red hues to accentuate its sculpted curves. Red detailing extends to the bumpers, Brembo brake calipers, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin features Bordeaux leather with red stitching on the steering wheel, center console, and seats, while a custom Prelude emblem is stitched into the dashboard.

The hybrid powertrain remains unchanged, utilizing Honda’s e:HEV system—a 2.0-liter petrol engine paired with electric motors to deliver 184 horsepower. According to project leader Tomoyuki Yamagami, the Prelude’s character blends sportiness with a theme closer to the image of a glider that glides through the air with a sense of freedom.

At present, Honda has only confirmed the Prelude 2027 Limited Edition will be available in Europe, without mentioning the UK specifically.
