Tesla Cybertruck owners are sharing positive experiences despite the vehicle’s polarizing design and public reception. A new owner from Pennsylvania, John Schuchman, says the all-electric truck has quickly become his favorite vehicle. After two weeks of driving, Schuchman believes the design choices and engineering are exceptional.
Schuchman posted his thoughts on the Cybertruck Owners Only group on Facebook. He acknowledges the negative attention the truck receives but argues that driving it changes perspectives. “I know a lot of people dislike the Cybertruck,” Schuchman said. “Some people think it’s ugly; some dislike Tesla; some dislike Elon Musk.” He notes that the driving trends are a major factor in his satisfaction.
“I’ve gotten to drive this thing around for the last few weeks, and I just have to say it… this is easily one of the coolest vehicles I have ever driven,” Schuchman stated. He highlighted the technology and the speed of the vehicle. “Oh, and it’s really freaking fast.” Schuchman concluded that critics should focus on the experience rather than the appearance.
Other owners echoed this sentiment on social media. Jason Jordan noted that people who drive the vehicle often change their minds. “Literally everyone who has driven a Cybertruck absolutely raves about it,” Jordan wrote. Clark Shen, who owns multiple Tesla vehicles including a Model S and Model Y, feels the Cybertruck is superior. He says younger people love the truck, while older generations often struggle to understand its appeal.
Ji Colbran praised the handling and steering system. He tested a performance model as a loaner and was disappointed when he had to return it. “The steer-by-wire is wonderful,” Colbran said. “Going back to regular steering was a letdown.” Nick Herbs offered a blunt assessment of the design versus performance trade-off. “If you don’t love the Cybertruck, that means you’ve never driven one. It’s ugly, but after driving it, who cares?”
Changing Minds Through Driving
Several owners admitted they initially disliked the vehicle’s look but changed their opinion after testing it. Linda Guzman and her partner fit this description. They previously thought the Cybertruck was unattractive but decided to purchase one after a test drive. Chris Soignier agrees with the general consensus that the driving experience is superior to the styling. He notes that his wife is the only person in his household who dislikes the truck.
Despite the widespread praise from those who have driven it, the negative feedback persists. Owners suggest that critics need to experience the vehicle firsthand to understand its appeal. The divide in opinion seems to center on aesthetic preference rather than performance capabilities.
