Lucid Motors has unveiled a new chapter in electric vehicle innovation with the Lucid Gravity, a three-row SUV that marries performance, efficiency, and space in a way previously unseen in the EV segment. Designed to cater to a broad spectrum of users—from families to professionals—the Gravity combines the agility of a sports car with the utility of a luxury crossover, all while pushing the boundaries of what an electric vehicle can achieve in terms of range, comfort, and technological integration.
At the heart of the Gravity’s engineering is its commitment to efficiency, a principle inherited from the Lucid Air sedan. The SUV features a battery pack, which, when paired with the vehicle’s aerodynamic design and advanced energy management systems, delivers an EPA-estimated range of 450 miles on a single charge. This range is achieved through a combination of low drag coefficients, optimized weight distribution, and a modular powertrain that allows for precise control of energy consumption.

Performance is another hallmark of the Gravity, with its dual-motor propulsion system generating a combined power output. This power is distributed through an advanced torque-split system that prioritizes rear-wheel bias during high-performance driving, ensuring sharp handling and responsive acceleration. The SUV’s 0-60 mph time is claimed to be under 3.5 seconds, a feat made possible by its low center of gravity, adaptive air suspension, and lightweight aluminum body. The suspension system, which spans a ride height range of 135 to 235 mm, allows the Gravity to adapt seamlessly to different driving conditions, from city streets to rugged terrain.
Inside, the Gravity redefines the concept of a three-row SUV. The cabin is bathed in natural light, thanks to a continuous expanse of acoustic and structural glass that flows from the windshield through the third row. This design not only enhances the sense of space but also contributes to the vehicle’s energy efficiency by reducing the need for artificial lighting. The second and third rows are engineered for maximum flexibility, with the third row being optional and available at an additional cost. When installed, the third-row seats feature a higher H-point than those in the Chevrolet Suburban, allowing for more relaxed leg angles and improved comfort during long journeys.

Lucid has also prioritized practicality in the Gravity’s interior. Instead of a traditional entertainment system, the second and third rows are equipped with tables—ideal for meals, work, or charging devices. The rear doors are engineered with reinforced latches to enhance side impact protection, while the cabin offers four distinct interior themes: leather finishes in Tahoe and Ojai, and non-leather options in Yosemite and Mojave, catering to a range of preferences.
For off-road capability, the Gravity includes a Terrain mode that leverages the high-performance stability system from the Lucid Air Sapphire. This system processes inputs from all four wheels 1,000 times per second, enabling precise regenerative braking and traction control. While the SUV’s off-road credentials are still being fleshed out, the integration of advanced technologies ensures that the Gravity remains versatile, whether handling urban environments or tackling light trails.
